Rural communities in India severely lack healthcare and awareness. Children are malnourished, and more than one in 16 dies before the age of five. Over 90% of adolescent girls in India are anemic. Each year, 78,000 women die due to pregnancy-related complications—and 60,000 of these deaths could be prevented.
We raise health awareness through community classes, rallies and special events. Topics include AIDS, hygiene, pregnancy, childcare, child marriage, first aid and disease prevention. Our goal is to reach at least two million community members with basic health awareness.
We also provide medical checkups and vitamins to hundreds of communities each year. Qualified medical professionals examine community members, offer medical advice, prescribe treatment and refer people for further care when necessary.
